ABOUT US

Award winning Cheshire Cheese specialists since 1750.

Welcome to Bourne’s Cheshire Cheese. The Bourne family have been hand making Cheshire cheese since 1750, and since 1930 at the The Bank farm in Malpas.

Our cheese is made from our own herd of Friesian cows that graze the land here at our family farm. Their milk is then used in our on-site cheese dairy, where we hand make our cheese. We find that still using this traditional ‘hands on’ technique makes our produce exceptional and stands out compared to other products that are made these days using more industrial methods.

We have a selection of Cheshire cheeses, ranging from traditional to flavoured. In keeping with traditional Cheshire cheese, we are the only producers left of the once famous Blue Cheshire.

Our cheese has won multiple awards including Bronze, Silver and Gold at the British Cheese Awards, prizes at Nantwich International Cheese Show and Gold and Silver medals at the World Cheese Awards.

The Bourne family have been making Cheshire cheese since 1750. The skill and knowledge has been passed down from one generation to the next. In his 80th year, John Bourne, although still very much involved, is passing the torch to his son Hugo. Hugo has been involved in running the farm and making the cheese for many years. He is keen to grow the business whilst keeping all the traditions that have been implemented throughout the generations of the family making cheese. Tradition with excellent quality is what the family strive for.

All of our products are available online & in some stores throughout the UK. We still enjoy regularly attending farmers markets locally as well as larger food and cheese festivals up & down the country. Please sign up to our newsletter and follow our social media pages so we can keep you informed.

Welcome to Mrs Bourne's The Littlest Farm Shop

In December 2022 we opened our little shop. It really is very small but packed with fantastic local produce. We opened the shop to allow customers to come to the farm to collect their favourite Cheshire cheese but it quickly grew into a place for other local producers without their own shops to showcase their amazing produce.

We have a great selection of locally made food & crafts. Locally reared pork making excellent bacon, sausage & black pudding. Delicious award winning bread delivered once a week. Stunning pestos, locally grown salad & veg, oils, honey, jams & marmalades. Even par baked pizzas made by hand & topped with the best & fresh ingredients.

The list keeps growing!

Locally Made Produce.

We have worked hard to find the best of the best in Cheshire & just across the border into Wales.

A lot of the produce in our shop has won awards & our customers can tell why!

Supporting Local Business

Working with other local businesses is something we are very proud to do.

Supporting our little shop is also helping to support other local producers. The people we work with are so supportive & we all work together, bouncing ideas around & offering advice.
